Elks Help in Texas Storm Disaster Relief


Chicago, IL –National Elks President Malcolm J. McPherson Jr. recently announced Local Elks Lodges from every state, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Panama Canal Zone will be raising donations to assist the thousands impacted by Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
National Elks President Malcolm J. McPherson Jr. also authorized a donation of $25,000 be made from the Elks Disaster Relief Program, Inc. His motto is “Strengthening Elkdom through Community Awareness”
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has made more than 5 Billion in donations since they first started 149 years ago. Last year alone, the Elks donated approximately $323 million in cash, gifts and time to make our communities better places to live. The Elks are one of the premier patriotic and charitable organizations in the United States of America.
They have more than 1,900 Elks Lodges across the country with a total membership nearing 800,000. Elks’ members must be American citizens who are at least 21 years of age and must believe in God.

If you’re planning to attend the 2017 Grand Lodge Convention in Reno, be sure to register online before July 12th, 2017:


Note that each member registering online can register an unlimited number of non-member guests at no charge, but every member attending the convention must register individually, even husbands and wives. If your spouse needs to register but doesn’t yet have an elks.org account, they’ll need to get a password first, then pre-register for the convention.


Remember, too, that every member registering for a password must have a unique email address. For security and privacy reasons, the system will not allow two members to register with the same email address.

Silver City Donates Shoes to First Graders

On Wednesday May 24th 2017 Members of the Silver City Elks Lodge 413 were out in force and presented a new pair of shoes to First Graders at Hurley, Bayard, Central, and to First and Second Graders at San Lorenzo Elementary Schools 120 children overall.

This is part of the Elks Community Investment Program and was made possible by a Gratitude Grant from the Elks National Foundation. In the presentation of the shoes, Students were encouraged to stay active, continue to read, and ‘run away’ from drugs during the Summer.

As Elk’s Members, we believe and practice Elks Care and Elks Share by donating some $40,000 plus locally and over $300 million across the nation every year. Our primary focus is on Veterans and Youth. Each year we give every 3rd grader in both Silver and Cobre School Districts a new dictionary and support many of the athletic and academic programs. We encourage the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity.
